Cheese
At any one time our
cheese counter has over
30 different cheeses
ranging from local
Scottish favourites such
as Strathdon Blue and
Ayrshire Dunlop to a
range of exciting
English, Welsh and Irish
cheeses such as Barkham
Blue and the ever
popular Black Bomber.
There is also an
extensive range of
International cheeses
such as the tasty Mahon
from Minorca and the
deliciously creamy Brie
de Meaux as well as
regular favourites
including Parmiggiano
Reggiano, Greek Feta and
Haloumi.
We try to vary the range
as much as possible and
are always on the
lookout for new cheeses.
We are able to source
almost any cheese on
request and are able to
recommend different
varieties and make up
cheeseboards for our
customers. Of course we
invite customers to try
before they buy!

Charcuterie
Our charcuterie
range includes
genuine Parma
Ham, a selection
of Italian
salamis, chorizo
sausage, Serrano
Ham and the
popular Ingram’s
Homecure ham
from nearby
Newburgh. We also stock a range of pates from Findlaters of Linlithgow, a small award winning company who hand craft luxury foods using the best of local ingredients.Varieties include duck liver with cointreau and apricot, venison liver with cranberry and cherry poached in Kirsch and vegetarian options include sesame, coconut and lentil and avocado, chilli and mango. Home made pies also from Findlaters include the family sized steak pie, and vegetarian options such as crunchy carrot and Dunsyre blue cheese. |

Olives and
anti-pasti
We stock a wide range of
olives such as Greek
Kalamata, large green olives
stuffed with sun dried
tomatoes, green and black
olives steeped in a chilli
marinade and Pistou olives,
succulent large green olives
smothered in garlic and
basil.
Our anti – pasti range
includes delicious Borretane
onions in balsamic vinegar,
semi – dried Sicilian
tomatoes and grilled whole
Italian artichokes. Tasters
are always available! |

The deli counter
would not be
complete without
our range of
smoked fish
including packs
of smoked salmon
from the Ugie
Smokehouse in
Peterhead,
delicious hot
smoked salmon
portions,
locally smoked
mackerel and
trout and the
ever popular
smoked salmon
pâté. We also
sell marinated
anchovies and
sardines along
with tubs of
Orkney herring. |

Snacks
Snacks including a range of
Burts and Tyrell’s crisps,
Habas – roasted broad beans
and spicy chilli puffs are
here to tempt you along with
a range of healthy dried
fruits and unsalted nuts.
Pasta, rice and pulses
We sell both fresh and dried
pasta in all shapes and
sizes including gluten and
wheat free varieties, as
well as rice – basmati,
brown, arborio, pudding and
wild and a selection of
pulses and beans both dried
and tinned. Pasta and curry
sauces are also here to make
your life easier, as well as
ready made pizza bases, naan
and pitta breads.
Coffee and tea
Our coffee comes from The
Bean Shop in Perth who roast
and blend an exceptional
range of coffees which we
sell both ground and as
beans. As well as these we
also stock a variety of Café
Direct Fair Trade coffees.
A number of different teas
are always in stock ranging
from Organic Breakfast to
fruit and herbal varieties.
Meat and Poultry
Demand for good quality,
locally produced meat and
poultry has grown steadily
since we have been open.
People need to know the
provenance of the meat they
are buying and we currently
stock the following:
Beef
Highland Beef is provided by
Charlie Bruce from his farm
in King Edward near Banff.
We stock a range of cuts
including steaks, steak
mince, stewing beef and
roasting joints but specific
orders can be made in
advance if you have a
particular recipe in mind.
Charlie also produces prime,
local lamb and Gloucester
Old Spot pork.
Pork
Delicious dry cured bacon,
sausages, ham and pork
roasting joints are provided
on a weekly basis by
Ingram’s Homecure in
Newburgh where high welfare
standards are ensured.
Free Range chicken
Organic free range chickens are delivered fortnightly from Hugh Grierson in Perthshire. We stock whole chickens as well as thigh, wing and breast portions - the flavour speaks for itself!
We stock the award winning
Stornaway black and white
puddings.
In fact, there are so many
items on our shelves and in
our fridges that we cannot
list them all here. The best
thing to do is to come into
the shop and see for
yourself.
